Established in 1950 as a roofing distributor, The Tom Duffy Co. rapidly developed itself into a specialized supplier of building materials throughout the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s. In the 1980s, the company transitioned into flooring supplies and began expanding its reach beyond its early footprint in San Rafael.
In the mid-1990s, the Tom Duffy Co. was acquired by the BR Funsten Co. and further expanded its product offering to over 10,000 flooring items.
